Listening to recent news about Miss USA, Donald Trump and the silliness of it all, I get just a bit tired of hearing it all. While I agree everyone deserves a second chance at life, I can't help wondering just when is Responsibility truly Responsibility???
Didn't Miss USA sign a contract, vowing to represent the U-S-A as a woman not just of beauty, but responsibility? OK -- maybe she allowed the success and euphoria of it all go to her head. Yes, she grew up in a small town in Kentucky. Yes, she mixed with the wrong people. And -- Yes, she was influenced with mind altering 'things' that she should not be mixing. Nevertheless, I cannot help asking -- just when is responsibility Her responsibility?
Maybe she influenced Donald Trump by her beauty, after all, he does get a bit weak in the knees when he glares at an attractive AND YOUNG beauty queen.
My personal observation is there comes a time in life, even when we are young, that we MUST BE ACCOUNTABLE, and responsibility is a portion of accountability. I am hopeful Miss USA has learned a valuable lesson and will represent our country with class, charm and the qualities she displayed previously. Please, Miss USA, stop making excuses for your foolish actions and be responsible. The youth of America needs role models, not more foolish, tactless, children who grow up too fast and refuse to accept responsibility!
